Description: The National Center for Translation (NCT) is organizing a celebrity titled "Translator Day", on Oct. 15th, 2012.
In a press release by the NCT, Dr. Camelia Sobhi, the center managing director, stated that the purpose of this celebrity is to highlight the translator rols, and to show the translators' works which are considered in many occassions an innovation that parallels the original work, and are indeed represent a bridge for communication between different cultures and civilizations. This celebrity is also to affirm the pivotal role of translators in interaction between nations since ancient times and until the current time. The translator is that unknown soldier who performs his mission, but rarely is mentioned or recognized in the way he deserves.
